The value of our nurses

Since 1922, the Society’s visiting nurses have been an integral part of our support for Sailors, Marines, and their families. From the delivery room to the living room, Society nurses lend their ears and hearts to Sea Service families -- when they are most vulnerable.

Visiting Nurses

Our registered nurses provide free, in-home visits to active duty or retired Sailors, Marines and their families to educate on issues concerning:

★ General health questions
★ Antepartum, postpartum, and breastfeeding
★ Chronic medical conditions related to aging
★ In-home safety evaluations

The Society’s visiting nurses are a blessing and a help to military families.

Combat casualty assistance visiting nurses

Many of our nation’s Sailors and Marines return from combat with life-changing injuries. Some physical injuries you can see but others, like traumatic brain injuries and post-traumatic stress, can go unnoticed for longer periods of time.

The Society’s Combat Casualty Assistance visiting nurses provide specialized knowledge and facilitate access to resources and earned entitlements – visiting these clients in their homes, rehabilitation centers, or hospitals.

I support the NMCRS Visiting Nurse program – it saved my life.
